Meg Brosneck is Ohio State’s nominee for the Beinecke Scholarship. Working toward Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and English and a minor in Slavic and Eastern European Studies, Meg is currently writing an undergraduate thesis about home and alternative education during the Holocaust. Inspired by their own experiences with home education, their interests in WWII, and an education abroad program focused on the transnational history of WWII, Meg’s research is filling an important gap in research about this period. Professionally, Meg aspires to a career as an archivist, curator, or university professor, where they will combine their enthusiasm for teaching and historical research.
At The Ohio State University, Meg is a member of Phi Alpha Theta History Honorary Society and an Arts Scholar. As an active participant in the Arts Scholar Program, Meg serves on the leadership council and is founder and editor-in-chief of Unfinished Magazine. Off campus, Meg shares their love of learning as a tutor for Pre-K to 12th grade students in history, government, language arts, literature, and geography. They also work as a research assistant and content creator for The Coalition for Responsible Home Education.
