Are you a highly motivated student in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering who intends to pursue a PhD in your field? Do you have research experience? Consider applying for the Goldwater Scholarship!
The Goldwater Scholarship is a prestigious award that recognizes outstanding sophomores and juniors with demonstrated commitment to research and academic excellence in sciences, engineering, and mathematics. Competitive students will have a high GPA (3.8+), research experience, and intend to pursue a PhD and research career. The scholarship contributes $7,500 in educational expenses for undergraduate study per remaining year and sets awardees up for additional competitive awards in the future.
On Monday, October 16 at 2 p.m. via Zoom, the Undergraduate Fellowship Office is holding an information session and workshop for the Goldwater Scholarship and other STEM awards and internships for undergraduate students in their freshmen, sophomore, and junior years. We’ll discuss the objectives of the awards, eligibility requirements, and application components. Participants will also engage in guided brainstorming processes to generate content for application essays.
Students, faculty, and staff interested in learning more about the Goldwater Scholarship are welcome to attend. Registration for the event is required. Please register here.
