Washington Cole, who graduated from Ohio State University spring 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and minor in French, has received a Princeton in Asia Fellowship. For the next year, she will teach at Singapore’s Ngee Ann Polytechnic as a Sustainability Teaching Fellow within the college’s Business and Accountancy department.
During her time at Ohio State, Washington developed skills in business, intercultural collaboration, and supply chain management. She was a Fisher College Business Ambassador introducing new students to the college and studied abroad in Austria working for a consulting company. Washington also has a passion for languages and studied both French and Mandarin at Ohio State while completing a Translation and Interpretation Certificate. After completing the certificate, she worked to set up a Translation and Interpretation Pathway Program at her former high school so students could use their language skills to build their professional expertise.
Having focused on supply chain management in her Ohio State Business courses, Washington sees a way to apply this education to the work she did with the World Food Program addressing food insecurity. In her career, she wants to work within the supply chain of humanitarian organizations developing food chain systems and infrastructure in marginalized communities in Asia.
